FAQ
Answers to the questions travelers ask most
Download the app and create your eSIM. Build a data balance by completing short tasks, or purchase a full-speed plan if you would rather not. Once you land and enable data roaming, you are connected in 190+ countries.
It depends on your destination. Wholesale mobile data costs vary from country to country, so a top-up in a cheaper market takes fewer tasks than the same top-up in an expensive one. The exact number is displayed in the app before you begin.
Short evaluation exercises — comparisons, ratings, preference selections and similar. Each tasks should not take more than 45 seconds.
No. Tasks do not request personal information, financial details, or access to anything on your device. They are evaluation exercises, not surveys about you.
Earned data is capped at 512 kbps, which is sufficient for messaging, maps, browsing and music but not high-definition video. Paid data runs unthrottled at full 4G/5G, supports hotspot use and large downloads, and requires no tasks. Paid plans are also available in every supported destination, including those where the free tier is not offered.
Yes. Both credit the same eSIM, so a purchased plan and an earned balance can be held at the same time and there is no need to choose permanently between them.
Earned data does not expire; build a balance whenever convenient and retain it for a future trip. Purchased plans are valid for twelve months from first use. In both cases, usage begins only once you arrive at your destination and enable data.
Yes. A single Airvoy eSIM works across all supported countries, so there is no need to install a new profile for each trip. Do not uninstall it — a profile can only be issued once.
No. Airvoy is data-only and does not include a mobile number. Keep your existing SIM active for calls and texts, and use Airvoy for data.
Yes. Anyone may claim a free eSIM by registering with a WhatsApp or SMS number, with no credit card required. Data is then earned by completing short tasks. A small number of countries where wholesale data costs are very high do not offer the free tier.
Yes. Connect to any Wi-Fi network and top up from there — an empty balance does not prevent you from refilling it. Paid plans can also be purchased over Wi-Fi at any time.
Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit or debit card, or PayPal, all from within the app.
